Welcoming Spring – “Marzanna” Parade in Freedom Park

You are invited to join a Family event organized by Polish School of Charlotte for Welcoming Spring -“Marzanna Parade”.

Date and Location: Sunday, March 19th Freedom Park 2pm to 5pm. Save the Date!

What is Marzanna??: A Traditional Slavic ritual that symbolizes the end of the dark days of winter, the victory over death, and the welcoming of the spring rebirth. Children create an effigy to resemble “Mrs. Old Winter” and walk it around saying good-bye to the cold, winter days.

The event will take place in Freedom Park with the following activities:

– Creating a Marzanna – Crafts for children age 3-12 (2pm)

– Marzanna Parade around the Freedom park Lake

– Games and other activities

– Hot-dogs and snacks at the shelter

– 4.30pm Raffle Lottery

Come on out and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in March. Make new friends, introduce your loved ones to a gorgeous, vibrant traditions that Polish-Americans are cultivating till this day.

Everybody’s welcome!

We will collect $5 (CASH ONLY) donations at the door to cover for the hot-dogs, chips and soft drinks that will be served after the Parade. There will also be a raffle available with amazing prices (Including : Carolina Panthers football signed by ALL 2016/2017 PLAYERS, gift cards to Polish Restaurant and Polish Store in Charlotte and more! – Raffle price $5/1, $20/5 Tickets – (Please bring cash)
